Strings (film)

7:30pm at the Latchis Theater

Join Sandglass Theater and Latchis Arts for this very special screening of the iconic film, Strings. Strings is a 2004 animated film directed by Anders Rønnow Klarlund. The film is unique in that it is entirely made using marionette puppets, with no CGI or other forms of animation. The story follows Hal Tara, a prince who goes on a journey of self-discovery to uncover the truth about his father’s death and his own destiny. An international co-production by Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom, the film was made with marionettes and the strings are part of the fictional and metaphorical world as life lines.

We are thrilled to welcome Bernd Ogrodnik, who served as the technical puppet designer and lead puppeteer, for a special behind-the-scenes presentation about the making of this epic marionette movie, including the presentation of the control and puppet design he created specifically for this movie.
